Waitlisted?

I have no idea if it's an accurate observation, but this seems to make sense. There's a huge spike in applications to top tier colleges this year; perhaps it means many more students are applying to many top tier colleges. These students can't say yes to all the schools that let them in. So, more kids off the wait list may get in. (Of course, the colleges could adjust for this and let in more students in the first place. . . )
