I saw Bob Fischer at the NCTM Convention last weekend. He's given a copy of the Intro Counting book to all his students in the 6th grade. It sounds like they're working through it in the intended way - he doesn't let the students read each section until they do the problems at the beginning of the section. He has the students present solutions, giving multiple solutions to each problem, then lets them read the rest of the section to have the ideas reinforced. Good to hear our materials being used fruitfully by such an outstanding program (and by such young students!)
